Bruce Forman is the chief information security officer for UMASS Memorial Healthcare, which includes a workforce of about 13,000 and is one of the largest healthcare providers in Massachusetts.
As CISO, Bruce is responsible for protecting electronic patient health information and overall IT security. Over the past four years, he has been instrumental in establishing security strategies and an effective IT control environment that meets HIPAA regulatory requirements. He also led the design of extensive IT controls across various processes (audit, application access, and network access).
Prior to joining UMass Memorial, Bruce was the director, information security for Genesis HealthCare Corporation. He earned a B.S. In Computer Engineering from Lehigh University, a Master’s of Science in Organization Leadership from Cabrini College and completed a dual Master program in Information Science and Business Administration in Biotechnology and Health Industry Management at Penn State University
